How To Paint A French Provincial Desk
5 different ways to give a
face lift to an old french provincial desk
********************************
Do you have an old french provincial desk that is
leftover from your childhood? Is it in your Mom's basement or garage? Can't bear to throw it out? Here are a few different
ways we have transformed old childhood desks for our customers. You can do this yourself. Take a good look at the desk. Is
it wood? Right now it is hard to find solid wood furniture that will last as long as this desk did without paying a premium
price. These great old desks also have beautiful hardware. If you are going to take on this project yourself, the most
important thing you can do is sand (give the original finish a "tooth") and then prime. The primer helps even
out imperfections and gives the paint a great surface to adhere to. Then make sure you give it two coats of paint. Don't get
discouraged after one coat. Wait a day, give it another. It makes a world of difference.
These desks were previously sold. We can paint your old piece the color
of your choice so that is coordinates with your current decor.
